About

Growing up in the 1950′s as an only child in a non-musical family, I suppose my early interest in classical music was perplexing to those who knew me. Nonetheless, my interest grew and, as a young teenager, I auditioned and was accepted as a student at Music & Art High School in NY city as a voice major. A decade later, armed with undergraduate and graduate degrees in music and education, I began my 34 year career teaching choral music and music theory. During my college days I developed an interest in piano tuning and technology. In the early 1980′s, after several years of study, I took, and passed, my exams and became a Registered Piano Craftsman in the Piano Technicians Guild. This led to a wonderful second career tuning and rebuilding pianos. While tuning pianos at a local music conservatory, I was introduced to Paul Kennedy, a nationally known and admired harpsichord builder who happened to live withing walking distance of my home. For the next 6 years he became my mentor and close friend. The Harpsichord Project E-Book is my way of repaying the kindness and generosity that Paul Kennedy showed me so many years ago. Thank you, Paul
